Prof. Jianxin Xie, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has been awarded as the Distinguished Young Scholar by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and “Chang Jiang Scholar” professorship by the Ministry of Education of China. He had served as the Chief Scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program). Prof. Jianxin Xie is the Chairman of the expert panel of the National Material Genome Engineering Project and Vice Director of the National Advisory Committee for Advanced Materials Industry Development. Prof. Xie also serves as Vice President of Chinese Materials Research Society and Executive Board Member of Nonferrous Metals Society of China and China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.

Prof. Xie’s research interests involved mainly in control solidification and forming of metals, preparation and processing of advanced composite materials, the intelligent materials preparation and processing technologies and metal extrusion theories and technologies. He has won a National Technology Invention Award (Second Prize), two National Science and Technology Progress Awards, two international academic awards and six science and technology awards from different provinces and ministries. He has authored 7 books, published over 300 papers in SCI or EI journals, and have applied for 95 national patents, of which 85 patents have been granted. His patented technologies have been successfully applied by more than 20 companies. Prof. Jianxin Xie serves as Chief Scientist and Vice Chairman of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Center
